The list is not everything in the warehouse; it is the short list of parts whose absence costs more than the part. Each item needs a location, a quantity, and an owner who verifies it on a schedule.
Inventory accuracy is the real system
A parts list that does not match the shelf is a rumor. Tie the list to the PM schedule
The parts list and the preventive maintenance schedule are one system. The PM inspection finds the worn component; the inventory has the replacement; the window is short. When the two are separate, the PM identifies the problem and the rig waits anyway. When they are tied, the maintenance window closes the loop.
